Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 victories have been won on hard courts

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev won his first title for over two years with a win over opponent Moutet in the competition championship match.

Medvedev, a former top-ranked player, has endured a challenging year, winning just a single victory at the major tournaments and suffering a setback at the American major.

His inconsistency on the tennis tour - and issues with his service game in especial - led to him exiting of the world's top 10 and ultimately parting ways with long-time coach Cervara.

Now training with his coach and Goetzke, he has gradually improved in the past month - peaking in a hard-fought three-set win over Frenchman Moutet.

This marks the player's maiden championship following the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hardcourt since spring of that year.

Victory also signifies he has won twenty-one victories at twenty-one various tournaments.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a tournament with my both daughters at once, so to win a title is especially meaningful," commented ranked player Medvedev.

"This championship is in dedication of my child my daughter, because the first title I achieved when my older daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the past champion, had lost his previous six finals, featuring in Halle in the past months.

His counter-punching play style and frequent outbursts on court had led commentators to question if his capacity to compete at the highest level was concluded.

However the athlete has made changes in recent weeks, striving to advance forward and play assertively, supported by an improved serve.

The champion recovered from a deficit in the first set against the difficult opponent, taking 4 of the concluding five games to go ahead.

Both players exchanged break points in the following set before the Frenchman, striving for his maiden professional victory, took control to force a decider.

He rescued 4 early break points in a competitive final set before the champion broke to that score to secure the win.

Suitably, the winner secured the win with a rally at the net, with Moutet incapable to handle a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
